Less than 50 days before the D.C. mayoral primary the two leading candidates, the incumbent Adrian Fenty and challenger D.C. Council Chair Vincent Gray, squared off during a candidates forum in Ward 6 Tuesday night.

Lines were drawn even before Ward 6 residents entered the new Eastern Market Tuesday night.

The six D.C. Mayoral candidates once again faced off in a heated debate with our own Sam Ford as moderator making sure they played nice. But it was tomega watcheshe crowd that proved to be the rowdiest.

It was a pro-Vincent Gray audience with many more boos for Fenty and resounding approval for the challenger.

Some residents aren\'t surprised.

Allison Chadwick said, \"I just feel like he isn\'t exactly what he promised to be.\"

While others believe the city is moving in the right direction.

Mary St.Claire told us, \"I\'m very happy to see the progress that has been made in our school system.\"

The visibly unphased Mayor Adrian Fenty continued his assault Tuesday night on the council chairman\'s record while Breitling Watcheshead of the Department of Human Services back in the early 1990\'s.

Fenty said, \"When our goFerrari Watchesvernment was headed towards the control board era because of mismanagement and a lack of financial prudence.\"

Gray didn\'t hold back. During the nearly two hour forum he attacked the incumbent\'s dwindling approval rating.

\"What this administration has done is raise every fee and fine in sight. You better have nine rolls of quarters in your pocket when you use a parking meter in the District of Columbia,\" said Gray.
